I live in northern Texas so I wasn't particularly concerned with hurricane Ike except for the fact that my husband's parents and brother and sister-in-law and kids live in Katy, TX which is just outside of Houston. They were not evacuated, but my in-laws did lose electricity and they may not get it back for as long as two weeks! Wow! They said that it was pretty scary when the eye went over them. They only lost a few shingles around the chimney. We didn't have the high winds, but all day yesterday it was raining and dreary. It was very depressing. All soccer games were cancelled because we were warned this was going to be really bad, but it fizzled into just a rainy day.
On a good note, today is beautiful and sunny and only 81. Lovely day. Sorry such a boring post today, but I just can't think of anything else.
